I’ve actually been supping back Black Russians for more years than I’d care, or is that more like, bother, to remember. For a longer draught, top up the glass with cola.
This article actually inspired me to research my drink of choice and this is what I found out: it’s Belgian man. Two of my favourite things blended together in legend. And, seeing as it supposedly pre-dates the American Caucasian by about 15 years, we can thank our Belgian friends for the divine inspiration. Veel uit, man!

Down in Central American barrios of Long Beach you can get a communista- or sometimes called sandinista; equal parts Kahlua, white rum (Nicaraguan flor de cana most often used), and whole milk. Pretty darn good too! Way better than that Mexican chilada crap they keep pushing on this side of the border…

i agree, Brother Eire. i myself am a bit lactose intolerant, and i enjoy the rush of energy and borderline psychadelia that a black russian can purvey. but you’re right, they can really hit you in the head like a flying coffee mug.

That’s fucking interesting, man! I didn’t know that it was a lactose-digesting enzyme that gave the Aryans the upper hand.
Like Jeff Bridges, I prefer my Russians black (read that in Rolling Stone). White Russians go down way too quick so I need something a bit stronger that won’t trigger my impulse to chug.
A wiser feller than myself once said to treat each Black Russian like a double and to switch to Oat Sodas after a couple, or else darkness might warsh over you, dude, and they’ll have to eject you from their garden party.
