Our illustrious Pin Dudeist Master Hieronymous Moondog alerted us recently to the existence of a not-yet-fabled-but-perhaps-soon-to-be-holy mountain upon which Dudeists may one day make pilgrimages.
I’m talkin’ about Dude Mountain here. Near Williams, Arizona, just west of Flagstaff.
Sensei Moondog’s friend Derek Brownlee has provided directions to the site at his blog here.
He says:
Dudes will appreciate its modest height, not that they’d actually want to climb it, of course. It’s actually 7400 feet, almost 500 feet above the road. I take the next left onto Forest Road 71, which climbs halfway up, but give up immediately. Much too rough for any Dudesmobile, and too much effort after traveling all day to get here.
Despite the effort, it might be a fun trip someday for a Dudeist Padre cadre to make. A few beers, a few burgers, a few hikes, and your fuckin’ troubles are over dude. Let’s go get Hi and raise some Arizona, Dudeist-style!
Of course, the laziest among us might rather choose to make pilgrimages to Venice Beach, the laid-back and wacky beach town that the Dude lived in.
Incidentally, the good Rev. Moondog has alerted us to the existence of an additional Dude mountain somewhere in Alaska. Anybody know of any others?
The Arch Dudeship says
I think I made this mountain out of mashed potatoes once during dinner and built a replica of it in my living room and…
Wait…sorry, that another movie.
